LRCsept09

The school’s Learning Resource Centre is available to the whole school, supporting all areas of the curriculum.

Staffed Opening Times:

Monday - Friday           8.00 am - 4.00 pm

This allows the students to use the LRC during breaks and after school.  Homework Club is also held in the LRC 3.00 – 4.00 pm each day.

In addition to the 10,500 fiction, non-fiction and reference books, there are many other resources for students to use.  These include newspapers, topic files, periodicals, magazines and DVD’s.

The LRC is equipped with a suite of computers - these are well used at breaks and lunch times and are usually booked in advance.

All Year 7 students are given an introductory course to enable them to use the LRC confidently and effectively.  We regard these as life skills vital to future study and research, allowing information retrieval from a variety of sources.

Several students volunteer to help in the LRC during breaks and after school.
